Arts Organizations
Levantine Cultual Center in Los Angeles, celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2006, seeks to build bridges among diverse Middle Eastern and Mediterranean communities in southern California, by presenting public programs of art and culture that foster dialogue and new friendships.
 
Peace Organizations
The Gandhi Project seeks to empower Palestinians to bring about change through peaceful resistance to the Israeli occupation. The film "Gandhi", dubbed in Arabic, continues to be screened throughout Palestinian communities, including refugee camps, for the purpose of launching a forum of discussion with grassroots communities about Gandhi’s philosophy of peaceful resistance. The Gandhi Project is administered by Relief International-Schools Online in partnership with Palestinian non-governmental and community-based organizations.

Americans Friends Service Committee For thirty years, the search for regional peace has been at the center of AFSC's Middle East International Affairs work. AFSC continues to work across lines of conflicts and to provide opportunities for exchanges and dialogue among NGOs and other groups, especially youth and women.

Doctors Without Borders or Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) was founded in 1971 as a nongovernmental organization to both provide emergency medical assistance and bear witness publicly to the plight of the people it assists. A private nonprofit association, MSF is an international network with sections in 19 countries.

International Medical Corps Founded in 1984, the IMC is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training and relief and development programs.

International Rescue Committee Founded in 1933 at the suggestion of Albert Einstein, the IRC is a global leader in emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by conflict and oppression.

Mercy Corps Working amid disasters, conflicts, chronic poverty and instability to unleash the potential of people who can win against nearly impossible odds, since 1979, Mercy Corps has provided $1 billion in assistance to people in 82 nations. Supported by headquarters in North America, Europe, and Asia, the agency's unified global programs employ 3,200 staff worldwide and reach nearly 10 million people in more than 40 countries.

Operation USA A non-profit Los Angeles-based disaster relief agency in operation for over 27 years, OPUSA assists developing communities in the U.S. and abroad to address problems relating to natural and man-made disasters and chronic poverty through the creation of sustainable health, nutrition and disaster response programs. We provide essential materials, training, advocacy and financial support for such programs.

Relief International Founded in 1990, RI provides emergency, rehabilitation and development services that empower beneficiaries in the process. Working in several countries of the Middle East, RI’s programs include health, shelter construction, education, community development, agriculture, food, income-generation, and conflict resolution.

Rotary International A first responder in the Lebanon crisis, Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.

UNICEF Since 1947, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF has supported the work of the United Nations Children's Fund by raising support for its programs and increasing public awareness of the challenges facing the world's children. UNICEF is part of a global effort to advance humanity with health, education, equality and protection for every child.

World Vision. Founded in 1950, WI is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. WI provides humanitarian and development assistance to impoverished children and families, and has worked in the Middle East—including the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon—for 31 years.
